When creating compositions and entries from patterns or composition defaults, all configured locales from the pattern or composition default will now be automatically applied to new items.

What's changing

Current behavior

Only your current locale is enabled on new items created from patterns or composition defaults.

New behavior

• All enabled locales from the pattern or composition default are automatically enabled
• Your current locale is also enabled, even if not enabled on the pattern or composition default
• After creation, locales can be freely modified with no linkage to the pattern

Examples

Creating a Product Detail Page composition from a pattern:

• Pattern has English and German enabled
• Current locale is German
• Result: New composition has English and German enabled, opens in German

Creating a product entry with a non-matching locale:

• Entry pattern has English and Spanish enabled
• Current locale is French
• Result: New entry has French, English, and Spanish enabled, opens in French
• Note: Pattern content only appears in English and Spanish; French fields are blank

Important notes

• If both composition defaults and a composition pattern exist, only the pattern's locales are applied
• Editions are not affected - you'll continue to explicitly select locales when creating editions
