A major upgrade for the Uniform asset library
A major upgrade for the Uniform asset library

The Uniform asset library now makes it easier to manage assets at scale, organize and find content faster, use AI for common metadata tasks, and work more efficiently without leaving your current flow.

New capabilities

  • Asset labels: Categorize, group, and color-code assets, then filter and search by label across the asset library and inside asset parameters. Set default labels on a parameter so uploads and selections are pre-filtered automatically. See asset labels documentation.
  • AI-generated metadata on upload: Uniform can suggest a title, description, labels, and focal point when you upload an image, with the option to review and adjust before saving. See use AI to generate asset metadata on upload.
  • Asset guidance: Define how titles, descriptions, and labels should be written so AI suggestions follow your team's voice, casing, and labeling conventions. Configure this under Settings → Scout AI → Guidance → Assets. See asset guidance.
  • Search, filter, and sort across metadata: Search titles and descriptions, filter by labels with advanced operators such as is, is any of, is all of, and is empty, and sort by properties including width, height, file size, and file name. Filter and sort state is reflected in the URL for easy sharing.
  • New asset library views: Choose between Grid, List, and Large list views, with view preference remembered per user. A My recents view shows the 20 assets you most recently opened or uploaded.
  • Replace asset files in place: Update the binary file behind an asset while keeping the same URL, so existing references continue to work. See replace the asset file.
  • Edit the original asset from any asset parameter: Open and update the library record, including metadata, focal point, and the underlying file, without leaving the composition or entry you are working in. See edit original asset.
  • Scout finds and references assets by meaning.

Enhancements

  • Redesigned asset editor: A two-column layout with an expandable preview on the left and properties, metadata, and usage on the right.
  • Redesigned asset parameter: Improved presentation for single-asset parameters, plus drag-to-replace support for faster file swaps.
  • Redesigned asset selection flow: A unified modal across the Uniform Asset Library, DAM integrations, data resources, and custom URLs. The in-modal asset detail view mirrors the asset editor.
  • Transient asset uploads: Files uploaded from an asset parameter stay on the parameter until you save. Unsaved uploads do not enter the library and are cleaned up automatically.
  • Improved overrides: Clear Original versus Overrides indicators, one-click Reset changes, and Edit original to update the library record directly.
  • AI quick edits in the asset library: Use AI to rewrite an asset's title, description, or override values directly from the asset editor.

See the asset library guide for more detail.
