Teams in Uniform

Teams are the highest-level organizational entity in Uniform. A team contains a group of users and projects, and serves as the primary boundary for access control and resource management. When you sign up for Uniform, you create or join a team that becomes the container for all your digital experiences.

Teams provide the organizational structure for your Uniform account. Everything in Uniform - from users and projects to roles and API keys - is organized within a team. Each team operates under its own Uniform subscription, which determines the features, limits, and capabilities available to that team.

Users can be members of multiple teams, which is particularly useful for scenarios such as developers or agencies working with multiple Uniform customers, consultants supporting different organizations, or employees who work across different business units. This structure enables:

  • Centralized management: Team admins can control all aspects of the team's resources
  • Access control: Users are assigned to teams and then granted access to specific projects within those teams
  • Resource isolation: Each team operates independently with its own projects, users, and settings
  • Subscription independence: Each team's subscription and billing are managed separately

When you log into Uniform, you'll be taken to the team dashboard where you can see all the projects you have access to within your current team. If you belong to multiple teams, you can switch between them using the team selector next to the Uniform logo in the header.

Teams in Uniform are flexible organizational units that can be structured to match your real-world business needs:

  • Entire organization (most common): A team can represent an entire company, containing all users, projects, and digital experiences. This structure works well for small to medium-sized companies, organizations with centralized digital operations, or companies that want unified access control across all projects.

  • Business divisions & brands: Teams can represent specific divisions within a larger organization that manage their own Uniform subscriptions and work independently, such as:

    • Regional branches (North America team, Europe team, Asia-Pacific team)
    • Business units (Marketing team, E-commerce team, Corporate Communications team)
    • Departments (Product team, Engineering team, Content team)
    • Brands (Individual brand teams within a multi-brand organization)

The team dashboard is the central hub for managing your team's projects and settings:

  • List all projects in the team (sorted by creation date)
  • Select a project to switch between them
  • Add projects: Add new projects to organize your digital experiences
