Who pays for the generations?#
Your team pays. Asset Studio uses the AI Gateway key that your team adds in the settings, and Vercel bills each generation to the Vercel team that owns the key. Asset Studio does not use Uniform AI credits.
How much does an image cost?#
The price depends on the model. On the Generation tab, the Image model list shows the price of each image in credits, if the provider gives a price. 10 credits are 1 US dollar. Some models bill by token or do not publish a price. In the studio, before you generate, Asset Studio shows an estimate for the number of variations that you selected.
Do I pay for each variation?#
Yes. Each variation is a separate request to the model. To spend less, select fewer variations.
Do I pay again if I change the copy of a card?#
No. Asset Studio draws the copy on the backdrop itself, without a model. Only a new backdrop costs money. A backdrop from the asset library or from a URL costs nothing.
Which models can I use?#
On the Generation tab, you can select the image models that AI Gateway offers from OpenAI, Black Forest Labs, xAI, ByteDance, and Recraft.
A generation fails with an error about the size#
Some models accept only some sizes. For example, a model can reject the 1200 × 630 size of Open Graph backdrops, or ask for a larger image. Select a different model on the Generation tab, or select a different size. For the AI button, an administrator can also set a model for each prompt.
Asset Studio says "Asset Studio needs a moment of setup"#
The AI Gateway key or the image model is missing. Ask an administrator to set up Asset Studio for the project.
Asset Studio says "Not allowed"#
Asset Studio works as you, with your Uniform permissions. Your Uniform user does not have a permission that the action needs: to add files and assets when you publish, or to read assets when you select a backdrop from the asset library. Ask a team admin to give you this permission.
Do I need a Uniform API key?#
No. Asset Studio uses your Uniform sign-in. The only key that it needs is the AI Gateway key.
Where do the published images go?#
To the Uniform asset library of the project. Each image is a usual Uniform asset, with the title that you typed. For a single image, the prompt is its description. You can select it in all asset parameters.
What happens to my images if we remove Asset Studio?#
They stay in the asset library. Asset Studio publishes usual Uniform assets, so they do not need Asset Studio to work.
Does Asset Studio save the variations that I did not publish?#
No. Variations stay only while the page is open. Nothing goes into the asset library until you publish.
Can the AI button use the content of my composition?#
No. The AI button uses only the values that you type into the prompt. To make an image that matches your content, describe the content in the prompt.
Can I use my own logo on a card?#
Yes. Add a Picture node to a card template and select your logo file. Asset Studio publishes the logo to the asset library, and each card from the template shows it.
Why does the image not have the size that I selected?#
The size is a request. Some models return a size that they support, which can be different. Asset Studio measures each image and saves its real size in the asset library.
